Rainy Day Beach

Sandy sand painted grey.
Footprints in sunken relief.
Sculpt a castle in clay.
Its stay ever so brief.

A tempered color is of the day.
Overcast in a Warm Grey dye.
A tepid rain, Nature’s tropic way.
Where shore meets surf
and surf meets sky.

Wind and water buffet
my face and feet.
Solitude as one with the Sea.
I walk in the surf ankle deep.
As my Soul is filled with glee.

Stonewall Beach remains gay,
with tides lo and hi.
All I do this day, is view it
through a poet’s eye.

Stonewall Beach

 It’s a cozy niche
where I met my beau.
At Gay Stonewall Beach
on the shores of Pompano.

This geometric sculpt
kissed by sub-tropic waters.
Conceived by Mr. Kulp
for his sons and daughters.

A Gay flag was seen,
to stake a claim.
That this spot would gleam,
with an iconic name.

See you there soon,
with a good vibe.
There is always a happy tune,
sung from tide-to-tide.

OMENS(?)

Amid fireworks celebrating
the Fourth of July,
thunderstorms reigned
over the skies.

Streaks of Florida’s lighting
knifed the ground.
Thunder shaking the body
like no Cherry Bomb could.

The heavens in disarray,
as Roman Candles asked
for a reprieve.

Why would the gods
crash our party?
